First Contact

This is my first blog posting. I am a lawyer and mental health expert in New York City with backgrounds in social work, political science, and psychology and work to humanize legal cases by assisting lawyers to present pertinent psychosocial background material helping to advocate for clients and explain mental health issues, as a means to achieve a better outcome. As a lawyer, I am aware that lawyers simply do not gain this immeasurably important training in law school and many criminal, immigration, and family lawyers now turned towards experts such as myself to assist in developing background factual and personal psychosocial history material in an effort to disabuse the prosecutor, government, or judge from the kinds of biases and prejudices that we all naturally have when considering and evaluating a person and / or situation that do not know. I have written the only book on the subject entitled: The Handbook of Mitigation in Criminal and Immigration Forensics: Humanizing a Client Towards a Better Legal Outcome. (2010 - Amazon.com). I have completed well over 1000 cases on a vast array of legal and mental health issues and look forward to posting blogs predominately concerning cases currently in the news. please feel free to share your thoughts or feelings.
